KENYATTA UNIVERSITY CATHOLIC COMMUNITY: CHRIST THE TEACHER CHAPLAINCY

“ WE ARE ONE FAMILY”

PURPOSE STATEMENT

With the support of Kenyatta university, we are a diverse community of Kenyatta university students, faculty, staff, resident and neighbors, called by the Triune God to participate in the new and eternal covenant formed through Christ’s Blood and become a missionary-disciples of the Lord Jesus ,crucified ,raised from dead ,and sure to return in glory

VISION STATEMENT

By the powerful outpouring of the promised holy spirit, we look to Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, and aspire to be a community that confesses the Triune God’s action in our lives through the proclamation of His Word in the scripture and sacraments, through service to our neighbours especially the marginalized and through active participation in works of reconciliation, justice & peace, ecumenical and inter- religious understanding.

MISSION STATEMENT

WE WORSHIP: We thankfully adore the triune God according to his word and the centuries-long tradition we have received from the Apostles.

WE WITNESS: By the word and deed, we give testimonies to the dignity of every person created in the divine image and likeness, the need of every human being to become a new creature in Christ, and the divine imperative that society be judged according to the Triune God righteousness.

WE SERVE: We use God given gifts, talents, time and financial resources to support one another in a strong active faith in the Gospel preached by Christ our savior, the prophets, apostles, evangelist and our ancestors in the faith .In particular we support Kenyatta University students as they seek to discern God’s plan and will in their lives, to grow in the Christ-centered maturity, and prepare for professional service to the society, marriage, parenthood and commitment to the church.

WE PARTNER: We collaborate with people of good will in serving the kingdom of God, with dioceses and parishes in marginalized areas of our nation to promote integral human development, and with our university in promoting national unity in diversity and progress.

To fulfill the above our students participate in:

i) Small Christian Communities (Jumuiyas) which meet weekly
